Yup! with the Incus bodykit what came next was the horns. I always felt the stock horns lacks some ommph! so after consulting a few 'horn' experts and hooters = (horn frequent users), I decided to go with the Hella Twin Tone. You can get this at most car accessories shops, and it does come with its own relay. But for the X20, we will not require this relay as the car already comes equipped with the horn relay which can be found in the fuse box.

Incus Time!

Finally! after waiting a gruelling 4 months after the Incus bodykit was introduced. I finally got it installed in Singapore. We had a trip down to Singapore specifically to install some of the 'poisons' besides the Incus Body Kit (BK).

The whole Incus set includes 2 side kits, 1 front grill, 1 front bumper + 1 rear bumper. It only took them (ManCanDo) approx 2 hours to install for a car. But of course you need to call them in advance to confirm your car color code, for them to prepare them in advance.

Evo Power Window & Courtesy Light

After a long wait, I finally installed the Evo-Power Windows with the assistance from the expert from ManCanDo - Singapore (http://www.mancando.com/) - whom brings in all these products from Korea. Installation is as even more complex then it looks, with flows of wires all over the place. No way this module can be installed by any other accessory or car repair shop out there.

Function wise, the evo power window module has something which i really long for, which is the functional one touch up and down power window function for all 4 window (which is really helpful you are constants lowering your windows for parking tickets, etc). The module of course comes with other features, like remote window down, auto windows up function once they door is locked and other safety features.
The courtesy light was just an add on since the door panels were coming off anyway, plus the X20 for Malaysia already has the socket for it, all that is missing is the wiring and the bulb.

Excellent :)

Thanks guys (fellow X20 members) for your support and well wishes. Will try my best to keep this blog updated with "Poisons" and other news...

Guangdao Photo Conducter 3-1

Installed the guangdao photo conductor 3-1 device to the X20 recently, and found that the acceleration of gears to be pretty smooth. Have also notice slight improvement in throttle response, hence decreasing the engine 'lag' time when you need that instant boost of speed. Overall no complaints. Waiting to install a proper VS to compliment the photo conductor.

Paint Protection System (PPS)

Sent my X20 for PPS treatment at Sunway 6 months back, and thus far I am happy with the results and the service provided by the shop owner and his dedicated staff. PPS is a special polarized Teflon coating which seal into your paint work and maintains the shine. The whole process takes about 5 - 6 hours. For more info about the PPS visit and ask for Mr.Raymond (owner of the shop): http://www.shinenshield.com/pps.html

K&N filter

Decided to change the current stock air filter to K&N air filter. After changing to K&N filter and resetting the ECU, there is certainly more pickup for the first few gears at least. You can also hear more of the engine rev noise, which pretty pleasing to the ear.

Led Key Ring Light

This was the first small mod I did to my X20 after 2 months. The Led Key Ring give you a luminous blue glow around the key ring, the moment the car door is open. These are sequence of photo's taken during the installation. Led Key Ring is currently available from Singapore.

Hyundai X20 (Elantra / Avante)

Hi,

I created this blog to share some MYPOV (my point of view) on the Hyundai X20. The X20 was launched in Malaysia sometime early of 2008, although the model itself has been selling around the world since 2006.

In Malaysia, Korean cars have a bad rap of being petrol guzzlers and high maintenance when it comes to parts and service. In fact this is far from the truth. Korean car parts as cheap or even cheaper them of the locally assemble cars. Granted when you compare fuel consumption wise, the Korean car looses out! But wait! that is true if you are comparing a Korean car which is manufacture before the 2000. With this new engine tech, Korean car are no longer the fuel guzzlers, in fact it beats some other Japanese cars in its category. By the way I am not working for any Korean car manufacture.

Back to the X20. The X20 or better know as Hyundai Elantra 2.0 or the Avante 2.0 was introduce in Malaysia early 2008. With its new design and look compared to its predecessor, this car got lots of heads turning for sure. For its price, it’s if not the cheapest 2 liter car in the Malaysian market at the moment. Featured packed, with leather seats, dual airbags, mp3 player, 4 speed auto transmission, 16” Rims, power windows, fog light, and much more.. (

Will write next about my X20 modifications done thus far.. stay tuned :)
